Response personnel

At each naval base, a pollution response unit is armed with around ten sailors for response operations at sea onboard oil spill response vessels (ORSV).
When assigned to such a unit, personnel are given specific training in pollution response.
CEPPOL designs and delivers this training which allows personnel to obtain a specialised qualification in this field.
Pollution response unit personnel are in charge of equipment deployment during response and its ongoing maintenance.
