Nautical Means
The main offshore means for response to marine pollution are Oil Spill Response Vessels (OSRVs, or BSAD in French). These vessels are chartered annually by the French Navy.
These specialised Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels are designed to deploy response means such as containment booms, skimmers and pumping equipment on the high seas.
